The Gory Details

Hope you are enjoying your wanders around Insta-Gore.  Insta-gore was started by costume designer Wendy McPherson Benitez.  With vintage horror movies and Stephen King novels (starting with Firestarter), her love of all things spooky was sparked at a young age.  Halloween was always a favorite holiday and her family was creating haunted houses in the garage when she was around 11 or 12.  A visit to Knott’s Scary Farm with the spooky smoke, jump scares, and ghostly costumes cemented her devotion to the macabre.   Years later, she became a costume designer for many well-known theme parks around the world.   Her favorite costumes to work on were for Halloween events and has been able to design some cutegore costumes for well celebrated characters.  Other loves are Sanrio, Animation- Happy Tree Friends and travelling—specifically liking cemeteries and is fascinated by other cultures death rituals.
